After Google Chrome updates: upgrade an Installed Chrome profile
What signed_migration_required and related messages mean, and how to upgrade the profile safely.
When Google Chrome updates itself, an Installed Chrome profile that was last used with the older version refuses to start until it is upgraded. Browz backs the profile up first, because Chrome upgrades profile data in place and cannot go back.
- Start the profile. If it reports signed_migration_required, the profile drawer opens on Chrome updates.
- Choose Check profile upgrade and read what will change.
- Tick I understand website identification may change, then choose Back up and upgrade profile. The profile must be stopped.
- If an upgrade was interrupted, the profile reports signed_migration_recovery_required. Open the drawer and choose Finish upgrade, or Cancel interrupted upgrade.
signed_profile_volume_unsuitable means the Browz data folder is on an external drive or a volume that ignores file ownership. Move the data folder to the internal disk.
